The sixteenth meeting of the Arab Internet Affairs Group was hosted by the Arab ICT Organization on December 5, 2023. Representatives from various Arab countries, the League of Arab States, and specialized Arab, international, and regional organizations such as the Arab Digital Economy Union, Arispa, CDO, ESCWA, ICANN, and RipeNCC actively participated in the meeting.
The meeting agenda encompassed several crucial topics, including progress updates on the adoption procedures for the Arab strategy for cybersecurity launched by the Arab ICT Organization. Additionally, discussions centered around reviewing the draft version of the report study, prepared by AICTO, aiming to establish a reference framework for the protection of personal data. The gathering also addressed the pivotal issue of transitioning to the IPV6 version and deliberated on the comprehensive acceptance of top domains in the Arabic language.
