The delegation from the Arab ICT Organization, led by His Excellency the Director General, Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, is actively engaged in the Mobile World Congress taking place from February 26 to 29, 2024, in Barcelona, Spain.

On Monday, February 26, 2024, the Director-General participated in a roundtable held concurrently with the Mobile World Congress, themed “Enhancing Digital Trust – Safeguarding the Digital World.” This discussion aligned with the recently approved Arab Cybersecurity Strategy by the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor also presented proposals aimed at bolstering international cooperation through projects within regional and international alliances.

During the conference’s inaugural day, a meeting occurred on the sidelines with His Excellency Dr. Ali Hussein Al Moayed, Chairman of the Media and Communications Commission of the Republic of Iraq, focusing on enhancing collaboration between the organization and the Commission.

Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor continued his involvement on the second day as a keynote speaker at an international workshop organized by the World Internet Congress (WIC), addressing the topic: “Computing Power Network – Smarter Network for a Smarter World.” The workshop featured discussions led by leaders, General managers, and representatives from major international companies in the information technology sector.

On the third day of the Mobile World Congress, His Excellency the Director General participated in the “Digital Day of the Arab States for Sustainable Development – D4SD (D-Day)” organized by the United Nations Development Office – Arab Office. This event brought together Arab telecommunications ministers, heads of telecommunications sector regulators, representatives of regional organizations and unions, as well as international stakeholders and financing banks operating in the Arab region.

AICTO’s delegation also engaged in several productive side meetings with numerous government officials, representatives from the private sector, and delegates from international and regional organizations. These discussions focused on exploring collaborative initiatives of mutual interest within the Arab region.
