The Director General of AICTO participated in SAMENA Council Leaders’ Summit 2024
The Director General of the Arab ICT Organization, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, actively participated in SAMENA Council Leaders’ Summit 2024 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event, themed “Evolving toward Integration, Intelligence, and Sustainability in Infrastructure”, took place on May 13, 2024.
During the summit, H.E. moderated a session focused on “Technology, Infrastructure, and the Digital Environment”. Discussions revolved around emerging technologies, intelligence, security, and sustainability, with insights from various stakeholders spanning commercial, regulatory, and political realms. The agenda also spotlighted topics such as the advancement of 5.5G technology, cyber resilience, spectrum opportunities in the GCC, sustainable digital transformation, innovation, and the space and satellite ecosystem.
Recognizing the importance of collaboration for leveraging technological advancements in sustainable development, the Arab ICT Organization signed on the summit’s sidelines a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Development Program. This initiative aims to harness digital technologies to foster sustainable development across the Arab region, addressing critical challenges and paving the way for a brighter future.
