The Arab ICT Organization delegation, led by His Excellency Eng. Mohamed ben Amor, Director General, actively participated in the 4th edition of the Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF), held from October 2-3, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This prestigious event, organized by the National Cybersecurity Authority under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, focused on the theme “Advancing Collective Action in Cyberspace,” aiming to strengthen international collaboration to tackle the pressing issues within the evolving cyberspace landscape.
H.E. Eng. Mohamed ben Amor took part in pivotal discussions addressing the security challenges posed by emerging sixth-generation (6G) networks and the strategies needed to protect critical infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of striking a balance between 6G innovation and the need to mitigate potential vulnerabilities. His interventions highlighted the necessity of adopting proactive measures such as encryption, AI-driven threat detection, and security-by-design principles.
In his remarks, H.E. Eng. ben Amor underscored the vital role of enhanced cooperation among industry leaders, governments, and academic institutions. Such collaboration, he noted, is key to developing robust security standards that promote innovation while safeguarding data integrity and user security, ensuring that the advancement of 6G technologies progresses without compromising safety.
The forum attracted a distinguished group of thought leaders, decision-makers, and key international stakeholders. This edition comes to continue building on the successes of previous editions, further advancing the global cybersecurity agenda, and contributing to the economic and social development of cybersecurity initiatives worldwide.
