
The Arab ICT Organization, headed by its Director General, His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, participated in the meetings of the 57th ordinary session of the Higher Coordinating Committee for Joint Arab Action under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, during the period from 14 to 16 April 2025 in Tunis – Republic of Tunisia, hosted by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization.
The two-day meeting dealt with a number of topics, including the role of joint Arab action organizations and institutions in supporting post-conflict countries and promoting reconstruction projects in the Gaza Strip and Syria, in addition to discussing the action plans of specialized Arab organizations and the Arab Digital Platform for Sustainable Development.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, HE. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed the importance of joint Arab action as a key pillar to ensure the continued renaissance of Arab countries in various fields. He also urged the need to pay special attention to the issue of AI, and to seek to intensify knowledge and train experts in this field, especially since artificial intelligence represents the phenomenon of the next century and one of the most prominent features of the future.
In this context, the contribution of the Arab ICT Organization comes through the preparation of the draft “Arab Code of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence” in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in the State of Palestine, which is working on its final version with many Arab countries and specialized organizations within the framework of the work of the “Arab Team for Artificial Intelligence”. This is in addition to its endeavor to establish a unified and effective governance framework to ensure the proper management of this promising sector in the Arab region in a way that serves its interests and ensures its smooth and effective engagement in governance. Global Artificial Intelligence, through an initiative to establish the “Arab Coalition for Artificial Intelligence Governance”. The organization also presented its work program for the years 2025-2026 within the framework of its Vision 2030, under the slogan: “Building a smart, safe and sustainable Arab digital future”.
