The Arab ICT Organization « AICTO » organized in collaboration with Huawei and IPv6 Forum the Africa IP Gala 2023 under the theme: « Intelligent IP Network: Boost new growth» on the 31st of May on the sidelines of GITEX Africa 2023 on Marrakesh – Morocco.

H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab ICT Organization delivered the opening speech, during which he stressed the necessity of moving forward to the adoption of the IPv6 for Arab sustainable development.

He emphasizes the readiness of AICTO to move from awareness to concrete actions through the creation of the “Arab IPv6 Council” launched during the second edition of the “Regional IPv6 Summit” held in Tunis on the 9th of May, which one of its goals is to “Increase the IPv6 deployment rate of the Arab Region to catch up with the leading countries globally”.

At the end of the event, the Arab-Africa IPv6 White Paper was released which focused on the point of the global IPv6 development in the world, and, on IPv6 transition requirements and conditions (preparation, design, and enforcement policies). Among others the white paper presented some best practices and cases in both Arab and African regions.

The event witnessed wide and active participation of high-level personalities, government regulators, leading operators, industry organizations, analyst agencies, and eminent experts for an in-depth discussion on global IP industry trends, successful IP-based business practices, and the cutting-edge IP technical innovations
