On Monday morning, September 9, 2024, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director-General of the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), received H.E. Mr. Zayed bin Saeed Rashid Al-Kumait Al-Khayarin, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Tunisia, at the organization’s headquarters in La Marsa suburb.

During the meeting, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor praised the continuous support provided by the State of Qatar to AICTO.He also presented an overview of AICTO’s recent activities, highlighting key initiatives in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the transition to IPv6. These efforts aim to enhance the capabilities of the Arab region in these critical fields.

For his part, HE Ambassador Zayed bin Saeed Rashid Al-Kumait stressed the priority given by the State of Qatar to these important topics, and its keenness to strengthen cooperation with AICTO to find effective solutions and mechanisms to implement these activities in the Arab region. He also pointed to the importance of exchanging expertise and experiences among Member States through participation in conferences and forums, as this plays a pivotal role in promoting joint efforts and upgrading the ICT sector in the region.

H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Omar also commended the State of Qatar for its leadership in the technological sector, recognizing it as one of the leading Arab countries in this field. He expressed his aspiration for further fruitful and constructive cooperation between AICTO and Qatar to support digital transformation and promote technological innovation in the Arab region.
