H.E. Eng. Mohamed ben Amor, the Director General of the Arab ICT Organization participated in the 11th edition of the Regional Cybersecurity Week in the Arab region for the year 2023.
the event was organized by the Arab Regional Center for Cybersecurity in cooperation with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the International First Organization, and the Cybersecurity Centers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, with generous hosting. From the United Arab Emirates, represented by the Cybersecurity Council, during the period 10-13 October 2023 in Abu Dhabi.
During his address, His Excellency the Director General emphasized the organization’s efforts in the field of cybersecurity and its endeavors to build a strong regional framework for data protection, digital trust, and privacy rights.
In this context, he also highlighted several of the organization’s key initiatives, including the launch of the Arab Vision for Cybersecurity in 2021, which laid the foundation for the “Arab Strategy for Cybersecurity” launched in 2022.
He underscored the organization’s commitment to supporting Arab and regional efforts in this vital and important field, while also ensuring the widespread dissemination of the benefits derived from these studies to all nations in the region, fostering research, development, and innovation projects.
Furthermore, as part of efforts to foster collaborative regional engagement, three memorandums of understanding were signed during the event. These agreements were made with the Arab Regional Center for Cybersecurity (ITU-ARCC), the National Center for Information Safety (OIC-CERT), and the international organization PCH.
