The Pre-Plenary Meeting of the “Arab IPv6 Council was held on the 31st of May 2023 in Marrakech on the occasion of the GITEX Africa 2023. The meeting was moderated by HE/Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, DG of the Arab ICT Organization and chaired by Mrs. Itidal Hasoon, chair of the Board.
The purpose of this meeting was the follow up on the KOM of the Arab IPv6 Council that took place in Tunis on May 9th, 2023 after a dedicated Ceremony as part of the Second Inter-Regional IPv6 Summit. During this meeting, Board members have been participating and debating during a panel session.
The aim of this meeting is to prepare the First Plenary Meeting of the Arab IPv6 Council to approve the Charter, the Management Team, and the Workplan (WGs / WIs nomination of the Chairmen), onboard Strategic Partners, and define work methods.
Discussions were very fruitful and dealt with many topics as the positioning of the Arab IPv6 Council within the regional and international IPv6 initiatives and the added value and benefits to be brought by the council for the Arab region.
From his side, the representative of the “IPv6 Forum” has emphasized the full support of the Forum to the Council to fulfill its mission at the best based on the good experience they gained over time.
Besides, the meeting gave the floor, as well, to strategic partners such as Huawei to express their support to the Arab IPv6 Council in order to boost the IPv6 deployment rate among the Arab Countries.
