The 26th session of AICTO’s Executive Council, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Amir Al-Bayati – Republic of Iraq, was held on May 10, 2023 in Tunis, during which were presented the report on AICTO’s achievements for the period december 2022 – Mai 2023 and AICTO’s strategic plan for the period 2023-2027.
This session witnessed the participation of delegations from the following Arab member States: The Republic of Tunisia, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Iraq, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Palestine, the State of Libya, In addition to the representative of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States – the Plenipotentiary Minister Mohamed Kheir Abdel Qader _Director of the Arab Organizations and Federations Department.
Among the most important decisions issued by the current session of the Executive Council:
– The approval of AICTO’s Strategic plan for the coming period.
– The appointment of an internal auditor for AICTO.
During the works of this executive council session, an open session was dedicated to Mr. Latif Ladid _ Head of the IPv6 Forum to explain to the audience the importance of moving to the sixth version of the Internet Protocol.
On the occasion, he highlighted the new security improvements provided by IPv6 that include encryption of the contents of data packets, as well improvements in the field of network preparation and management, and faster performance in complex networks.
He also emphasized the crucial need to create a regional platform for dialogue to help implement the Arab digital economy strategy by developing a regional framework for IPv6 as a practical tool for harmonization and coordination that allows Arab countries to work together to overcome these common challenges and share results and outputs.
