The Arab ICT Organization hosted on October 21st and 22nd, 2021, in the margin of the Arab Cybersecurity Forum organized in the Republic of Tunisia, the second meeting of the Arab working group concerned with developing a unified Arab framework to confront electronic piracy and protecting networks for joint Arab action institutions, and the first meeting of representatives of Arab organizations concerned with considering In presenting a vision for the creation of an Arab advisory council that includes specialists from organizations to oversee the development of an Arab strategy in the field of digital transformation, supports capacity building for its employees and provides the necessary advice and technical support to Arab countries.
These meetings witnessed the participation of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science, the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Zones and Arid Lands, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, the Arab Center for the Prevention of Earthquake Risks and Other Natural Disasters, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, the Arab Union for Internet and Communications, and the General Secretariat of the league of Arab States (the Department of Arab Organizations and Federations and the Department of Communications and Information Technology Development).
This meeting was chaired by HE. Minister Plenipotentiary/Mr. Mohamed Kheir, Director of the Arab Organizations and Federations Department at the League of Arab States, during which he thanked the Arab ICT Organization for hosting these important meetings and for well preparing and providing all necessary tools for holding these meetings, which came in implementation of the decisions of the Higher Coordination Committee For joint Arab action.
From his side, HE. Eng. Mohamed ben Amor, Director General of the Arab ICT Organization, welcomed all the attendees, wishing them a pleasant stay in Tunisia, and stressing that these meetings represent an opportunity, especially in the presence of a large number of specialized Arab organizations concerned with the digital economy and cybersecurity for further discussions and exchanges of experiences on these important topics, hoping that the meetings would come up with recommendations that would achieve the desired goals.
