A delegation from the Arab ICT Organization, led by His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General, participated in the second edition of the Arab Global Forum for Digital Cooperation and Development. The forum is organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the League of Arab States, in collaboration with various United Nations agencies and Arab joint action organizations, and in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The event is taking place from February 23 to 26, 2025, in Amman, Jordan.
Held under the theme “The First High-Level Partners Conference on the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033,” the forum aims to launch mechanisms for implementing the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033. As a key partner in shaping this agenda, His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor delivered a speech emphasizing the event’s significance in fostering cooperation to translate the agenda’s objectives into tangible projects that drive a better digital future for the Arab region.
He highlighted the strong alignment between the Arab Digital Agenda and AICTO’s Strategic Vision 2030, which focuses on achieving digital leadership, enhancing Arab digital sovereignty, and ensuring technological transformation aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He stressed that the agenda’s success hinges on the integration of key pillars, including infrastructure, governance, legal frameworks, digital transformation, and social inclusion, to ensure comprehensive and sustainable digital growth.
Additionally, he underscored the critical role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of the digital economy, advocating for policies that promote its ethical and responsible use to drive inclusive and sustainable development. Concluding his speech, he reaffirmed that digital transformation is not merely a technological shift but a broader development initiative that fosters innovation, economic opportunities, and improved quality of life. He also highlighted the importance of regional collaboration and strategic investments in building a resilient and globally competitive Arab digital future.
