The Arab ICT Organization, headed by its Director-General, HE. Eng. Mohamed ben Amor participated in the meetings of the 52nd regular session of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action chaired by H.E the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Abu El Gheit, during the period from 24 to 26 January 2022 in Riyadh, hosted by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.
This session was held under the title “Digital Transformation and Capacity Building in the Field of Artificial Intelligence in the Arab Region.”
During this session, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States stressed the importance of the Arab labor system including all its members in undertaking the rapid development of concepts and mechanisms of work to catch up with modern achievements in digital transformation and artificial intelligence; Pointing to the importance of keeping pace with the preparation of Arab strategies in the field of digitization and artificial intelligence, in light of the Arab projects and initiatives previously launched.
He also claims for cooperation and concerted efforts at the Arab level in this field to defend Arab interests.
In this context, AICTO has made many contributions in its fields of specialization, especially with regard to following up on the Arab strategic vision for cybersecurity and the effects of digital transformations on the economies of the region.
This session also dealt with extensive discussions of the raised topics, foremost of which is digital transformation and the development of an Arab framework to confront electronic piracy, artificial intelligence, and smart university standards.
It’s worthy to mention that this meeting was preceded by the meetings of the Technical Committee of the Higher Coordinating Committee for Joint Arab Action on January 24 and 25, 2022.
